01
ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES IN MERKU PROPERTIES
Collaborating with tenants, we implement various green initiatives including ESG practices such as obtaining green certification (BREEAM), optimizing energy usage through rooftop photovoltaic panels, and embracing other renewable resource initiatives. We prioritize reducing natural resource and raw material consumption through strategies such as solar installations on suitable roofs, which provide immediate energy savings. Additionally, enhancing building insulation can result in significant reductions in heating and cooling needs, especially when coupled with effective bioclimatic design. Furthermore, we aim to minimize waste production and always prioritize the maximization of natural light within our properties.
02
SOCIAL
Merku collaborates closely with its tenants to integrate their social initiatives. In pursuit of this goal, we actively champion the inclusion of individuals with disabilities, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to both supermarkets and society at large.
